ACCA
Diploma in Financial Management (CDipFM)
The ACCA Diploma in Financial Management provides
the practical knowledge you need to take the fear
out of accounting and ensure confident
participation in financial discussions. This new
qualification is aimed at middle and senior
managers with financial responsibility, and is
built around a unique, one year programme.
Based on ACCA’s highly successful Certified
Diploma in Accounting and Finance, which has been
completed by nearly 10,000 managers worldwide, the
Diploma has an established reputation. Many of
these managers have taken advantage of the
qualification’s postgraduate status to gain
advanced standing towards MBAs and other masters
qualifications.
The Diploma covers a range of key areas, including
how to interpret financial statements, plan,
manage and measure performance using budgets and
other financial techniques, make financial
decisions and manage all kinds of financial risk.
The ACCA Diploma in Financial Management is a
highly effective way to overcome your fear of
finance.
Benefits of this qualification
Develops a
practical understanding of finance
Unlike many
financial awareness courses, the Diploma aims to
achieve a level of practical understanding that
is genuinely useful in the workplace. Managers
are increasingly responsible for managing their
own profit centres and therefore need a similar
level of financial understanding to the
qualified accountants within the business. The
ACCA Diploma develops this with a broad range of
topics which enable managers not only to
understand financial information but also link
it to broader strategic decisions.
Can be
completed in as little as a year
There is no time
limit to completing the Diploma, it is possible
to complete the course after just one year’s
study. This is a small commitment to make for a
thorough understanding of finance and the
ability to work confidently with financial
information.
Offers a range
of flexible study options
You can fit your
studies around your family, social and/or work
commitments because you can study for the
Diploma any place, any time. There is a flexible
home study programme, or you can study
full-time, part-time or evenings through a
number of recognised colleges worldwide, either
as a top-up to the home study programme or as a
complete course of study.
Is more cost
effective than conventional training courses
With an initial
cost of just £235 (covering the initial
registration fee and study materials), compared
to the cost of many other executive courses on
offer, ACCA’s Diploma in Financial Management is
a cost-effective, all-round method of improving
your financial competence.
Uses practical
assessment for a practical course
The Diploma uses a
combination of examinations and project-based
assignments, set and marked by ACCA. You have to
pass two three-hour examinations covering all
areas of the syllabus and two projects, which
you can complete in your own time.
This combination
of examinations and projects ensures a detailed
knowledge of the subject areas, as well as an
ability to practice your financial skills using
realistic case studies and examples.
Provides a
springboard to further study
One of the major
benefits of studying for the Diploma in
Financial Management is that it is recognised by
a number of leading universities as covering up
to a third of their MBA programmes.
This means that on
qualifying with the Diploma you will be able to
gain accelerated entry to many of these
programmes.
